I just can't not do it!!!!

I thought I could do it but I just HAVE to put a little CHRISTmas decorations out ... Right?
So first I started cleaning then next thing you know I brought out a couple of my Santa's. Then out came the candy canes, along with a cute little snowman/gal & one Big Giant Stocking for the front door. Whats next???? You'll have to check back & see... :)

I have collected Santa's for sometime now. These were handmade by a lady I meet years ago at a craft show she & I were doing at that time...

I love anything that has that primitive look about it!

I make these Candy Canes myself & sell them at The Pecan Grove Gift Shop in Warsaw, Mo.

I also make these Giant Stockings to hang on your door or wall.

I love this Amaryllis silk ~ I found it this summer at a flea market. Got a great deal on it too!

My fireplace has never had a fire in it ... We plan on putting in gas logs someday just haven't got around to that yet.
So I have a antique fireplace grate with candles setting in it & then I took the orange twinkle lights & strung them all around ...makes a romantic cozy look!

My little snowman is my greeter at the front door. :-)

The willow bench has a couple snowflake pillows & a shovel that I picked up just last week in Arkansas.
While on my treasure hunt with my dearest friend ~ Nancy!

Santa don't STOP here cause we'll be gone! :)

Well it's official ~ No one is coming here for Christmas soooooo... I'm not going to put up my TREE or any other Christmas decorations inside this year. Guess we'll be going to our daughters house & all the Kids & G-kids will be there too! Kind of a repeat of Thanksgiving only with gifts! LOL!

Sooo ~ I thought you might like to see what my Christmas past looked like.
NOTE ~ If you left click on the picture you can make it larger for close up viewing.

This is my family room tree.
I do this tree in vintage toys & cherished ornaments that I have received in the past years from family & friends that are very dear to me. It also has some of the handmade ornaments the kids made when they were in grade school. The larger toys that won't fit in the tree I set under it.

I should warn you ... I like STUFF!

                                                                 And more STUFF...
The picture hanging on the wall to the left. My daughter "Tressa" painted it when she was about 10 yrs old from a CHRISTmas card we had received. She liked it because it had 3 stockings & each one had a puppy stuffed in it! I gave her a piece of butcher paper & my paints. When she was done I was surprised & thought she did such a good job I framed it! I have treasured it through the years & someday it will be passed on to her to use in her home!

More STUFF

My coffee table is a old vintage egg incubator.
I didn't realize when I took this picture that "Bill's" cell phone was on the table ????
I collect vintage metal toy telephones.
The picture of Santa I printed off & put it inside an old shabby metal picture frame that I found on one of my treasure hunts..

Sharla made the wall hanging several years ago. It fits perfect right over my painting I have hanging there. :-)
The old church pew was given to us from the Mennonite Church we attended for over 17 years while we lived  in Warsaw, Mo.
It is very old & put together with square nails.

I know ... to much STUFF !
But I love my STUFF !

Just for fun ... I hang these red long johns on the closet door that you see when you enter my home!

This is to the left of my front door ~ which leads into my formal dining room.
The wall is full of family photos.
I bought the chippy, shabby washstand at a auction. A little town east of Branson called Bradleyville.
My rug is very old & hand braided. I have had it for so many years I don't even remember where I found it.

My old fireplace mantel is in my formal dining room.
I bought this a few years ago & I just love it! The insert is a stained glass window.
The mirror above it I found at a yard sale in NC. when we were out visiting our daughter. I gave a whopping $5.00 for it!

Just more STUFF setting on my antique oak buffet.

I got carried away & bedazzled my brass chandelier!

My Country Cottage Kitchen.
The back splash is a old cabinet door that I hung ...
It says "Housework when done correctly can kill you!"
Don't you just love it!!!

I am planning on putting a farmers sink & new granite countertops in when my ship comes in!!!

This is my breakfast room ...
The little tree has old collectibles on it.
A little bit of everything!

I have collected old STUFF every since I was a teenager!
I loved it then & I still love it!

I guess you can tell that I love Red & White!

I always put my snowmen along the stairs ...
I just happened to walk by after my grand daughter "Hayley" had put them all down for night night!
LOL!
I just had to take a picture of that!
 : -)
Well that's all folks ... I hope you enjoyed my home tour!
Maybe next time I'll do the upstairs?????

Burnt Biscuits

Burned Biscuits-author unknown

When I was a kid, my Mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every
now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made
breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago,...
my Mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in
front of my dad I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all
my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my Mom and ask me how my
day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I
do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat
every bite!

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my Mom
apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget
what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."

Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he
really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said,
"Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And
besides – a little burned biscuit never hurt anyone!"

Life is full of imperfect things and imperfect people. I'm not the
best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just
like everyone else. But what I've learned over the years is that
learning to accept each other’s faults - and choosing to celebrate each
others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a
healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.

And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the
good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet
of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give
you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact, understanding is the
base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or
friendship!

"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket - keep
it in your own."

So Please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burned one will do just fine.
And PLEASE pass this along to someone who has enriched your life.

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some
kind of battle.

"Life without God is like an unsharpened pencil - it has no point."

Don't you just hate it when your plans don't come together!

Today ~ My husband "Bill" and I attempted to put up our CHRISTmas lights. First thing that went wrong was our outdoor white metal tree ... needs new lights! Not sure if it would be easier on me to just buy another tree rather than try to relight this one.

So next we put up the Buck deer ~ YEA ~ it works!
Next the Doe deer ~ Not so lucky after all ~ only 1/2 of  her was working.
I'm just thankful that it's head is still lite up!

So tomorrow I will be buying white lights for the Doe deer too!

Santa works just fine.YEA!!!!
However I still have to put some pinecones in the little red sled.

I still have some work to do on the porch ~ this will do until I get out the rest of my decorations.

Looks like a Red Neck Christmas to Me!
