~ ~ ~ Back Home Again ~ ~ ~

I Love Home ...

I have been away for over a week now. I just stepped in the door & put on a fresh pot of coffee. Yummy ~ My mail was so piled up in the mailbox it will take me a little while to get through it all ... Guess I should try staying here more often!
We had a Wonderful Christmas with my Kids, G-Kids, Family & Friends. Santa was good to everyone! Guess we must have been good too??? LOL!
I must say that God has blessed us this year in several different ways & I want to give him the Praise & Thanksgiving for all he has done in our lives & our family's lives this year.
I have some Christmas pictures & some New Treasure's to share with you  ~  but it will have to wait until next post !!!
I need to unpack & put stuff away now & then go through all that mail!  :-(

The Good Ole Days !

This is my brother "Wade" &  I  many years ago. I am thinking I was probably 3 & he was 4.
Back in those days we would get one item from Santa if we were real good .
Our stockings was usually an ole sock & Santa would leave fruit & candy inside it for us.
Things were so much more simpler back then.
You can tell by our SMILES that we were pleased with what Santa left us.

IS IT SNOW YET????

~ Just One Of My Passions ~

I Love,  Love,  Love, to Create & have a lot of Fun doing it!

I like to work with natural things as much as possible.
Old deer antlers,  pheasant feathers, pine cones, & twigs!
This one can be hung on a door or wall or you can place it on a table or mantle & work some candlesticks in around it for more fun!

Another  lodge look one with a deer antler & a touch of red berrys for some color.

I also added pine cones & tucked in some raffia into this table piece.

This one is for the Fishing Lover in the house!
Lots of wispy grasses & sprigs .
I even added a dragon fly!
I sold this all most as quickly as I put it out to be sold in the Gift Shop.

I have made 2 of these & they are both gone now!
I really enjoyed working them up.

The duck decoy is called a feeder duck.
I picked them up when I was in Arkansas doing my favorite yard sale.
Bargains Galore on Hwy 64!

I like lots of grasses, twigs, berrys, & cat tails in my lodge look wreaths!
 FUN FUN FUN!
If you need a wreath I'm your Gal! :)

CHRISTmas Past @ My Daughter Sharla's House

The antique fireplace mantle was bought at a flea market in Warsaw, Mo. The top piece Sharla found at a yard sale.
When she put them together.
Perfect fit they look like they were meant to be!

What can I say she likes STUFF too!
That's my girl!!!

This leads into the dinning room & then into the kitchen.

To the left is the kids Bedrooms & Bath ~ to the right is the Den.

Sharla decorated the Den in fishing & lodge look items.

My grand daughter "Rickie" is the piano player in the family!

Sharla got this crab trap for her husband "Rick" one year for CHRISTmas.
I love the sign that she hung in it!

The painting was given to Rick from his Grandmother.
It has been in the "Branson" family for many years.

Sharla has my love for vintage things too!
She collects retro CHRISTmas ornaments & the tree is vintage also!

She bought this old hutch at a flea market & it was missing the top piece.
As luck would have it I happened upon one that fit perfect!

This bathroom is all about light houses!

LIGHT HOUSES
From the boarder print to the shower curtain!
LIGHT HOUSES

Cute little shelf she found & a oil painting too!

This is Cole's Room!!!
Rick handmade the log bed for him.
We thought he did a great job!

Look what crawled up on his bed!
A Raccoon, A Bear, A Moose.
While Santa overlooks!

Rickie's Room
No Boys Allowed!!!
She loves Horses
The boarder print is horses & the 6 ft shelf is loaded with Breyer horses!

Mom made the valances used blue bandanna hankies to trim them up!

This is the Master Bedroom.
Most everything in here is Antique ~ except the bed, TV console, & the fireplace.

The draped thing in the right-hand corner is covering her treadmill.
A girls got to do what a girls got to do!

Sharla bought this cream colored TV console new.
Then she brought it home & covered the doors with toile wall paper & then hand painted the bottom doors to look plaid!
I think she did a Fantastic Job!

The Antique Bench
This was given to Sharla from her sister in law.
It was just a frame ~ it had no seat or springs when she received it.
The original owner was just going to toss it!
Sharla to the rescue & it is good as new!!!

This tree is done in pinks, creams & burgundy!
The old trunk in the background belonged to her Great Great Grand Parents.

Love this fireplace !
It has a remote ~ you can turn it on or off while your in the bed !
What would we do without remotes!!! :-)

The Master Bath

Jacuzzi Spa Tub

Stall Shower

This room divider works great for a little more privacy!

I gave Sharla this old antique medicine cabinet several years ago to use & I never got it back!
Hmmm ??? :-)

The framed map is wrapping paper that she found on one of her junking trips.
It had a map of Paris & France.
Then she found 2 matching frames at a flea market that they fit in just perfect!
Talk about Luck!!!

Someone gave her the chair & she recovered it all by herself!

The Dining Room
The light fixture Sharla bought at a yard sale for $5.00
It was a Shiny Brass Fixture ~ Sharla spray painted it with the flat brown camouflage paint.

The old corner hutch was in the house when they bought it.
It was made out of pine wood.
Sharla painted it with green paint & left the doors the original aged pine wood color.

This desk was another flea market find.
She painted it to match the hutch.

Moving on to the Kitchen

Sharla did her Kitchen in the Wine & Grapes Theme

She carried the same theme on into the breakfast room.
But added a few touches of country in there.
I guess you could call it Wine Country!

She also likes her Coffee just like her mother!

Another great yard sale find!
The Antique Wall Telephone.

The old antique electric stove was giving to her from a dear friend.
Sharla collected the cow things when she was in high school.
She got rid of a lot of them & keep the ones that meant the most to her!

The  Utility Room
She salvaged the old pine cabinets from the kitchen & used them in the utility room.
Just added a new countertop.

Above the washer & dryer are Sharla's vintage toys.
Little Pink ~  Stove, Refrigerator, Sink, & Dish Cupboard.
Setting on the ironing board is a Little Pink ~ Washer / Dryer Combo.

I found this $5.00 sink at yard sale ~ it still had the faucet on it.
Works great too!

The old granite top table was given to her several years ago.
It works great for a laundry folding table!

Exit!

The Home of Sharla & Rick Branson & family.

Get ready for the upcoming CHRISTmas of Sharla's home.
She has made lots of changes!
