~!~ Make Mine Shabby Chic ~!~
I love to take a Shabby Garage Sale Find
&
do a Great makeover!
I don't really remember when I got this or where I found it but it just keep calling out my name
GLENDA
HELP!
So after ignoring it"s plea for way to long.
I did just that
&
Helped it!
Gave yet another old piece a new Life!
I have to say I love the revival!
Shabby Chic White
It has a plate rail on the shelves
&
the small drawers are in good shape too!
Next piece was a find also from some time ago.
It isn't an old vintage piece but with a little paint & sand paper
it can look that way!
I LoVe how it turned out too!
&&&&&&&&&
Now both two pieces are for sale in my booth in The Fall Creek Flea Market.
Old Drawer with Glass knob!
This piece will not get ~ White Paint !!!
I LOVE IT JUST THE WAY IT IS !
I just cleaned it up & then sprayed clear sealer to stop
any
oil stains from bleeding from inside the draw.
next I printed this Country print & cut to fit
a little tea stain & it looks Great!!!

~ There's a Possum in The House ~
While making my plans to go visit my dear friend.
She gave me a call the night before my departure & this is what she said ...
Glenda .... I have a problem !
So as my mind is racing with thoughts of just what it could be ???
I in my wildest dreams never expected to hear what she was saying on the other end of this conversation!
She went on to say that she heard a slithering / nibbling sound under her bed the night before.
So she decided to investigate just what kind of critter she was dealing with.
Thinking she had a mouse ???
NOT !!!!
Flashlight in hand & there it was ...
looking back at her were two little beady red eyes !!!
So now she is calling "The Critter Gitters" who live 45 miles or more away!
So long story short they can't make it until the next day.
Next Day
I arrive & they are there under her house & have caught a large "Mom" possum plus 1 baby.
Seems that she had dug under the house / through the air condition return air duct
&
made a nice nest to have her little ones.
Guess she had been there for sometime because the babies were now weaned.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Tools needed to catch a Possum ???
Live trap for catch & release
The "Critter Gitters" made a point to tell us that they catch & release !
My friend told them that she was a "Farm Gal from Missouri "
&
that we have a whole different method of catch & release from where she was from !
Whatever it takes to "STOP" them from coming in the house!!!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The cat food goes in the live trap.
cat food for bait
and if all else fails Rat Poison
other tools could include
Broom
Fish dip net with long handle !
&
maybe even a hammer
We were catching young possums
from
Tuesday evening until Saturday morning!
Total count
5 babies & 1 Mom
We Got Them ALL !!!!
~!~ Country Girls Can Survive ~!~
Sorry but ... I have to say that both adult & baby possums are ugly from my point of view !!!
Just one more Funny Chapter to our book of a 30 yrs + Friendship !
We have several chapters to our book of "Funny Tales".
They have kept us in stitches just thinking about them as we are growing older!
Hope I didn't offend anyone or bore you with the details but
a Girl has got to do what a Girl has to do !

??? It was Slim Pickins ???
Slim Pickins
but Sweet just the same!
I just thought this Old Jar with the Floral Decal was SWEET!
I think this was an
"Old Coffee Jar"
that some crafty person added the Floral Basket decal.
I also found the hand crocheted hot pads in Green & Red.
The lid has that patina
I LOVE!!!
It's a Keeper not going to sell this one
it is sitting on top of my Fridge! :)
Vintage Shaker & yes I'll be keeping it too !!!
This is a door knocker ~ my plan is to use it to hold paper napkins outside on my picnic table.
It will keep the wind from blowing them everywhere!
It could also be used hold notes on your desk or counter.

!!! TRASH TO TREASURE !!!
A
Black & Gold Lamp
and it's very
" Retro "
( found in a throw away pile at a thrift store )
All finished now ...
I always forget to take the before pictures.
I am so into getting it refurbished & looking like new again
&
I'm almost done when I think
!!! Darn !!!
I should have taken the before pictures.
So ~ I'll just explain it to you ...
the metal pieces were a Gold Brass finish ~ but in very bad condition.
So ~ I spray painted them is a Black Satan finish.
The lamp shade is also a Gold finish but it had some scuff marks & small dents.
I bought a roll of Black tulle & wrapped it with that so it would let the gold shine through but not be able too see
it's
Boo Boos so much.
Put it all back together & rewired it.
for a added touch
I added the Gold Cord Trim around the Lamp Shade top & bottom.
I also found this Gold & Black Jewel that was originally a xmas ornament
&
hung it from the lamp switch knob.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
it will be for sell soon
