The Last of The Harvest.

I picked the last of the Bell Peppers while I was at my In-laws this week.
I diced up the Red, Yellow & Green Bell Peppers & put into zip lock bags to freeze. I use these to make my egg omelets.

All I have to do is add the diced onion & I am good to go!!!!

I diced the Green Peppers also to freeze & I use them for my Baked Beans, & anything that calls for Bell Peppers in it to be cooked.

I also worked up the last of the Okra  : "(
It only made 2 qt. freezer bags, but hey 2 is better than none at all .... Right? :

Knockin' On Heavens Door

I was knocking on heavens door today & the Lord Jesus answered!
I give him Praise & Thanksgiving for answered Prayers!

For those of you who don't know my Granddaughter of 9 mo. had a tumor removed today & it was benign ... with no damage to the growth plate of the leg bone.  PTL!

My road trip down in the Arkansas Hills.

I made it back home last night & I had a good time visiting my family & some friends.
I was kind of disappointed in the fall colors on my road trip down though.
I was expecting to see lots of beautifully colored fall trees. I think that they are late this year down there or I was just to early!

The pictures of the country lane is the road that you take off  HWY. 71 to Chester, my home town.
                                                                         Beautiful!
This was taken from my folks front yard.

My parents front porch has a awesome view.
.
The field is still green & lush. Mom & Dad enjoy just setting out on the front porch & watching the day go slowly by.

 Lake Fort Smith
My folks live about 7 miles from this lake.

The water was very calm & peaceful. I was wishing I had packed a picnic lunch & could have just stayed a little longer for a restful, peaceful afternoon.

The Boston Mountains Scenic Highway 71 Loop in Arkansas

Scenic Highway 71 begins at the edge of the Arkansas River Valley and extends 42 miles across the Ozark Mountains to Fayetteville. These rugged mountains are the home of good people surviving and thriving in the heart of the legendary Ozarks. The mountains are also home to many artists, outstanding crafts folk and many fine musicians. Little towns like Mountainburg, Chester, and Winslow offer good home cooked meals, mountaintop lodging, retreat centers and spectacular vistas and views from Artist Point and beyond. Beautiful Lake Fort Smith, one of the finest State Parks in the country, has amazing accommodations and activities for the entire family. Ozark Folkways, just south of Winslow, offers a year-round Craft School and an arts and crafts gallery that's open seven days a week. Brentwood features local music in season and West Fork offers their own Saturday night tradition, the "Little O’ Oprey.” Your visit to Arkansas and the Ozarks would not be complete without a slow, winding trip through the beautiful, meandering Boston Mountains Scenic Loop Highway 71.

We may need to send this to Myth Busters!

According to weather folklore, when you cut open a persimmon seed, you can forecast the severity of the winter by the shape of the seed that is inside.  Inside the seed you will find a picture of a spoon, fork or a knife.

If you find an image of a spoon, there will be lots of heavy, wet snow.  If you find a fork, it means you can expect a mild winter with powdery, light snow.  If you find a knife it indicates an icy and bitter cold winter.

It's a Beautiful Fall Day in The OZARKS once again.

I'm thinking of going for a drive down south this beautiful sun shiny day. Who knows where I'll end up at????
Last summer I went on a drive to my friends house that lives in Clarksville, Arkansas. On my way there I went through this little old town near the Buffalo River. This old house caught my eye so I turned around and went back for some pictures. Being a florist I just thought this was so neat. I love IVY!!!
I could imagine a photographer could really  be creative with this in a photo shoot.

I have to say when I see old homes that no longer have families living in them. It makes me kind of sad & I wish I could hear the walls tell their stories of the past. I went up to the windows & peeked inside ... The floors were all fallen in & there were trees growing inside reaching for the light that the windows let come through. But for some reason the owner did keep the yard mowed. I had to think it must of been his old home place? Anyway here are the photos. I hope you enjoy them too! I have to say also that it is kind of appropriate too that the cobwebs are round about this time of year. SPOOKY!

Need a Fall Wreath?

I made this one up for Heritages Days Fall Fest ... It didn't sell so I put it in my flea market booth at Fall Creek Farms Flea Market in Branson, Mo.

The Ozark Hills where I was born...

This is where I grew up ...
I had a wonderful childhood growing up in the Ozarks. I rode my horse & walked the railroad tracks to the Little Country Store. Waded the creeks & went skinny dipping at the old bluff hole!
My brother & I would go squirrel hunting & fishing in the streams or in the neighbors ponds. My childhood friend would come home with me after school & spend the whole weekend. We would climb the hills & bluffs & take a sack lunch cause we would be gone the whole day long!
Made for some Great Memories! Fun Times!!!!

My Home Town in Arkansas.

Wade is my 1 & only brother.

This old store has been closed for many years.
I remember when I was younger I would walk up the railroad tracks & buy a Coke Cola & peanuts.

The stone store building is still open today ...

The White Church House is The Community Building now.
I had one of my wedding showers in this church house. Today it is also used as a place to Vote.
The upstairs is the Masonic Lodge.

This Building at one time was a Chester School House but today it is the Chester Freewill Baptist Churh.

Heritage Days in Warsaw, Mo.

It came & was over so fast that it doesn't seem like it ever happened! I set up 2 booths this year. One was done in my Fall decor. & the other was in Christmas . We had beautiful weather this year & the fall foliage was beautiful..

Starting my own blog ~ This is one of the things on my to do list.

Well I've done it now!
It is a little scary for me to be attempting this ~ because I am self taught when it comes to this computer stuff. I'm sure I'll make lots of mistakes so please just over look them! :)
It will take me a few days to get the hang of it but I'll give it my best effort.
